I'm originally from Indiana, but I've been in Colorado since 1998. My husband is from Indiana as well, and after meeting in Colorado, we created a tribe of Indiana Hoosiers here. We have two kids, a daughter who's fourteen and a seven-year-old son. I love being outdoors. I worked for Vail Resorts for almost nine years. I used to snowboard, but after multiple myeloma broke my back, I don't do activities like that anymore. I can't waste those 300 days of Colorado sunshine, though. I'm more of a Summer person since it's so easy to find things to do like walking, hiking, or paddleboarding. Right now, I had to take a step back from work to concentrate on my health, life, and mindset, which has been a big transition for me. It’s what's best for me and my family though. If you can get your mind positive and hopeful, it's much easier to fight this. However, that can be much easier said than done because the mind is sometimes harder to fix than the body. If you can find hope in your mind, it can help with all the physical things and help you show up for these battles.
